Dr Jade Bogdanovs
Senior Psychologist

Jade is currently not taking on any new counselling.
Jade is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who holds a Masters and PhD in Psychology. She is a board approved supervisor who can supervise provisional psychologists and Educational and Developmental Psychology registrars. Jade joined the Milestones team in 2010 from the UWA Child Study Centre Clinic, and recently became director of Milestones, following in the footsteps of Dr Robin Harvey. Jade has extensive experience conducting diagnostic assessments for a range of learning and developmental issues, including learning disorders and autism, and can help parents and teachers to understand the strengths and difficulties of their children, working collaboratively to plan strategies that will support them at home and in the classroom. In addition to diagnostic assessments, Jade also works with children, adolescents, and their parents to provide intervention for emotional and behavioural problems. When she is not at Milestones, Jade loves to experiment with new recipes - usually with the "help" of her 7-year-old!

Tara Hawkins

Tara is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who holds a Masters degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Education. Tara has experience working within a school setting, collaborating with families, schools, professionals and service providers. She can address a wide range of learning and developmental difficulties, promote positive behaviour change and enhance positive family and school interactions. In 2017, Tara participated in the Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood Training (DC:0-5 ™). DC:0–5™ strengthens the practitioners ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat mental health issues in the early years by identifying and describing disorders not addressed in other classification systems and by pointing the way to effective intervention approaches. Tara provides assessment and intervention support to children, adolescents and their families for a range of issues; encompassing behavioural, social, emotional and learning problems. Tara enjoys working from a strengths-based, systemic approach with a strong developmental perspective, working with families and teachers to help foster supportive environments enabling children and young people to reach their greatest potential. She places a strong emphasis on working collaboratively with young people to build upon their existing strengths to develop effective coping strategies that they can draw on throughout the rest of their lives.

Jannine Johnston
Senior Psychologist

Jannine is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist with a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology, Honours in Psychology and Post Graduate Certificate of Education (Early Childhood Education). Jannine takes a very child centred, holistic approach to understanding the range of factors that can contribute to children and young people feeling challenged in different aspects of their life. To help understand and address the root cause of any issues, Jannine uses a caring, warm and respectful approach to ensure young people feel safe to be themselves and parents feel heard. Jannine has always believed it to be a privilege to support children, young people and their families. Jannine has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and their families dealing with a full range of challenges and issues which can arise. In addition to being an early childhood teacher, Jannine has over 30 years’ experience working as a psychologist – both here in Perth and previously in Scotland, UK. Most recently, Jannine worked as the school psychologist and Psychology Team Leader in a local high school for the past 10 years. Having this experience, Jannine is very comfortable advocating for children and their families while collaborating effectively with schools and support agencies, where appropriate.

Candice Thomas
Occupational Theapist
Candice is a highly skilled Occupational Therapist who holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy with distinction from Curtin University (2009). Candice has extensive experience in providing Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention in the areas of sensory processing, motor dysgraphia, visual perception, handwriting, fine and gross motor development, hypermobility, social skills, attention, and activities of daily living. She has experience in the clinic, home and school settings and can provide OT in an individual or group setting. Candice enjoys working in partnership with schools and has supported children with complex needs through the development of personalised school programs. Candice is trained to complete NDIS functional capacity assessments (FCA), and motor dysgraphia assessment including applications to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) for special examination conditions. Candice enjoys supporting families in the process of applying and advocating to NDIS to ensure the best outcome. Prior to paediatrics, Candice worked in the areas of rehabilitation, neurology, home modification, and research for the University of Notre Dame. Candice is passionate about supporting children, youth and families to thrive and reach their full potential. She has experience supporting students with a wide range of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning disorders, Motor dysgraphia, Hypermobility, Global Developmental Delay, Dyspraxia, and Sensory Processing Disorder. When not working, Candice enjoys quality time with her family, trying new foods and outdoor activities with her husband and two children.

Dr John Cartner
Provisional Psychologist
John is a provisional psychologist with a strength-based approach to his practice, who has dedicated his professional life to supporting young people’s holistic development. Prior to pursuing a career in psychology, John enjoyed a successful career as a secondary school teacher. In this role, John strove to support his students intellectual and social-emotional development. It was, however, during his 17 years in the tertiary sector as a university lecturer and academic, that John experienced increasing numbers of students disclosing their mental health challenges. These disclosures, and John’s lived experience of the positive difference psychological interventions could provide, motivated him to undertake his studies towards becoming a registered psychologist. In addition to a Masters of Professional Psychology, John’s credentials include a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education as well as a Masters and PhD in English Literature: these focused on the impacts and responses to situations of significant trauma. When not working at Milestones, John coaches his son’s cricket team and spends time with his border collie and golden retriever. John also enjoys reading, cycling and spending time with family and friends.

Capri King
Provisional Psychologist

Capri is a Provisional Psychologist who takes a thoughtful, compassionate, and evidence-informed approach to her work. She works primarily with children and adolescents, supporting presentations including emotional regulation difficulties, anxiety, peer relationship challenges, life transitions, and study-related stress. Capri is particularly interested in helping young people develop insight into their emotional experiences while building practical strategies to support wellbeing and functioning across home, school, and social contexts. With experience across both clinical and educational settings, Capri prioritises the development of strong therapeutic relationships and aims to provide a calm, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment. She works closely with clients and, where appropriate, families, schools, and other professionals to support sustainable and meaningful outcomes. In addition to her clinical work, Capri is actively involved in professional leadership and research. She sits on the leadership board of the Australasian Human Development Association, contributing to advocacy and the promotion of research across the lifespan. Her research experience includes work exploring peer connectedness in university settings, as well as research focused on school refusal. These experiences continue to inform her clinical understanding of the role of social connection, belonging, and educational engagement in mental health. Outside of her professional role, Capri values balance and wellbeing and enjoys spending time at the beach, travelling, practicing yoga, and engaging in creative pursuits such as graphic design.

Rose Stackpole
Provisional Psychologist

Rose is a Provisional Psychologist who works with children and adolescents, supporting them and their families to navigate emotional, behavioural, and learning challenges. She takes a compassionate approach, helping young people understand their strengths, develop skills to manage stress, build confidence, and thrive both at school and at home. ​Before training as a psychologist, Rose worked in supportive roles with young people in sporting and performance settings, which sparked her interest in wellbeing, resilience, and how young people respond to everyday pressures and changes. She is currently completing her PhD on stress reactivity, which informs her approach to clinical work. Rose has a particular interest in wellbeing, stress, and emotional regulation, and enjoys helping children and adolescents develop strategies that make a real difference to their daily lives.

Dr Stephanie Yeong

Stephanie Yeong is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She completed her postgraduate studies in psychology, earning both her Masters (Educational and Developmental) and her PhD, at The University of Western Australia. She has also completed the Advanced Clinical Training in Play Therapy with Play Therapy Australia (PTA) for specialist training in Child Centred Play Therapy. Stephanie has extensive experience conducting psycho-educational assessments for a range of learning issues. She also specialises in providing Child-Centred Play Therapy to children, and can work using other therapy approaches with children. Stephanie can help parents and teachers to understand the strengths and challenges of their children, as well as work together to devise strategies to support the child at home and in the classroom, so as to enable children to achieve their fullest potential.

Lisa Baker
Registered Psychologist
Lisa is a registered psychologist. She holds a Masters of Professional Psychology, Honours degree in Psychology, and Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Criminology and Justice. Psychology is Lisa’s second career, with over 17 years’ experience in a previous government setting. Lisa has further worked as a psychologist in primary, secondary and educational support school settings and is committed to supporting children, adolescents, and young people reach their potential. She has gained experience in applying evidence-based practices across the domains of educational psychology, including mental health and wellbeing, learning, behaviour and risk management. Lisa is passionate about collaboration with families, caregivers, and educators. She is dedicated to cultivating a supportive, stimulating, and inclusive environment to allow children to continue to grow. She works from a strengths-based approach to support the needs of the whole child and believes children learn best when they are happy, safe, respected, healthy, engaged, supported, and challenged to grow. Lisa is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Functional Behaviour Assessment, Triple P (Positive Parenting Program). Lisa has experience in identifying learning and developmental difficulties, alongside making recommendations for learning adjustments to best support each child’s needs. When Lisa is not at work, she enjoys travel, cooking, eating out and exploring Australia with her son.

Luisa Rossi

Luisa Rossi is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist with extensive experience working with children and adolescents in the school setting and more recently in private practice. She holds a Masters degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Education. Luisa has worked as a Teacher and a School Psychologist so has a vast knowledge of school-based interventions and processes to support students with special needs and social-emotional concerns. Luisa conducts psycho-educational assessments of children and adolescents to identify possible learning and developmental difficulties as well as areas of strength. She enjoys working in collaboration with parents and teachers to ensure children’s learning and social-emotional needs are adequately catered for in the school environment. Luisa works with both parents and children to assist in the management of anxiety and behavioural difficulties at home.

Di Maseyk
Senior Psychologist

Diane is an experienced psychologist, demonstrating exemplary psychological skills throughout her extensive history across government departments in both country regions and the independent school sector. Diane has worked in both primary and high school settings and has developed specialist knowledge and skills, specifically in the areas of learning disabilities and psychological support and intervention for children and adolescents experiencing complex social and emotional mental health issues. A recent qualification in Family and Relationship Therapy has inspired Diane to work in a systemic approach, supporting improved outcomes for families. Working in partnership with parents and schools to assist young people is integral to her work. Diane is trained facilitator of Youth Mental Health First Aid and the Positive Parenting Program. This provision of training to school staff and parent bodies is further testament to her commitment in working with systems to influence the future of young people.

Dr Robin Harvey

Robin is currently not taking on any new counselling.
Robin is an endorsed Educational and Developmental psychologist and has been working in independent private practice for since 2008. She has worked in the field for over 30 years in schools, universities and in private mental health services. She holds a Phd and Honours degree in Psychology, and a Diploma of Education and is currently chairperson for the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. Her contributions to the field of psychology were recognised in 2007 when she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM). In her work Robin offers specialist services to children and families in the areas of learning and developmental difficulties. Her time is divided between offering intervention support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional difficulties; liaison with parents, schools and other health professionals to effectively plan for and support children with learning difficulties; and completing diagnostic assessments for a range of learning and developmental difficulties.
